Jump off to Isla de Gigantes – the Crown Jewel of Panay Island

What I love about it: “it’s more fun in the Philippines!” Travelling around the Philippines made me realize that it’s more fun in the Philippines. There are a lot of paradise here in the Philippines and so far the most beautiful paradise I have been is in Isla de Gigantes. So where is Isla de Gigantes located? It is located in Iloilo, Philippines particularly near the Estancia, Iloilo. To be able to get in Isla de Gigantes, it is almost an two to three hours of land travel from Iloilo City to Estancia, Iloilo. And then from Estancia to Isla de Gigantes it would be one and one half hour of boat travel. Isla de Gigantes is divided by two big islands, which is Isla de Gigantes Sur and Isla de Gigantes Norte. In Isla de Gigantes Sur you would see all the tourist attractions such as Rock Formations m, Lagoon, cave but there is no resorts or hotels in these part, but if you wish to spend the night in the island you need to ask permission from one of the locals to spend the night in their house. While in Isla de Gigantes Norte you would be able to see Old LightHouse, Bakwitan cave and resorts or hotels in these part.

There are a lot of island in the Isla de Gigantes Sur such as Pulupanda Island (Turnina Island), it is a small island which is entirely covered with white sand, it also have a small hunt in the island that is used commonly by fishermen in times of bad weather or to take a rest. Second is Cabugao Gamay Island, if you would like to have a perfect view/picture, this is the perfect selfie spot, where in you could climb the top of the rocky hill that would take you to the top of the rocky hill and you’ll get a chance to take a selfie of the horizon with the white sand beaches at the Center surrounded by the crystal blue sea. Third the hidden lagoon which is known for Tangke, which is said to be enchanted by supernaturals that keep the water clean, and you would not see any single dry leaf that is floating in the clear water even though there are trees and plants. This Emerald-colored pool Lagoon is surrounded by rock formation as well rock cliffs. Fourth is the Antonia Island is smaller than the other islands but widely known for its clear and transparent unspoiled water and have an powdery white sand that can rival that of the more famous Boracay Island. Fifth is Bantigue Island it is known for tiny island that has long sand bar that emerges during low tide, these Island is perfect for swimming and check the locals if they have freshly steamed scallops that is ready for serving guess. The scallops that are serve in this island are also known for its odd-shaped, wasay-wasay shell, this island also serve abundant in fish, squid, crabs, shrimps among other aquatic delights. The prices of seafood here are cheap, than the cities of Iloilo City and Roxas, Iloilo and definitely a lot cheaper than Manila or Boracay. Sixth is the Pawikan cave, which you would reach by conquering a steep cliff and entering a hidden forest on top. The trek to the top is not for the elders and people whom easily get tired for the incline is around 45 to 70 degrees and 200+ feet high, however the effort is worth it after seeing the spacious caverns inside the cave with its other worldly mood and rock formation, the cave is surprisingly well lit because of several holes on the cave’s roof which form natural atriums.

While in Isla de Gigantes Norte that’s we’re resorts and hotels located, were you could stay for the night. In this island there is an Old LightHouse Ruins, if you climb to the top of modern lighthouse you would see a breathtaking view of sea. In Isla de Gigantes Norte there is also an Bakwitan cave that contained gigantic sets of human bones. Trekking to Bakwitan cave takes almost half an hour before reaching the mouth of the cave. And from there you can have an perfect vantage point in seeing the whole island. In Isla de Gigantes you might have a chance to meet/see the rare Gigantes cave frog. Also you could see bats taking a rest at the cave ceiling. Few knowledge why islands are called Isla de Gigantes or Island of Giants is inspired with longon or wooden coffin that have a size of eight feet. Longon is an excavated in the area and is dated to be pre-Hispanic, villagers finds from the island showing pre-Hispanic artifacts supplement that popular belief that giants once lived in these beautiful island. Another fact is Iloilo is recognized as the “Heart of the Philippines” with its rich history, sumptuous local food, colorful festivals, and breathtaking sceneries and Iloilo is the best place to give you a sneak peek of what filipinos are all about.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
